the cold dark road
met by the warm rays of sun
standing ontop of the world
watching as the day has begun
the sun pokes through the clouds
rises slowly, waking the earth
the view from the top of the mountain
reveals a valley of purple mist
and the closer you get to the edge
the closer you come to eternity
soon racing down the road
trying to outrun the sun
trying to run out of fun
exhausting your interest of the green world
finding that you can take it all in
even at breakneck speeds you’re amazed
and soon the sun is high overhead
a day spent following its arc
a day well worth the effort
